Whether categorized by artificial intelligence with human oversight or directly by humans, there may be instances where your input is required for categorization. This guide explains how to edit transactions, both individually and in batches.
Edit A Single Transaction

Access the Work Module:
- Navigate to the Work module within your platform.

Search for Tasks:
- Use the "Search tasks" search box, located on the upper right side of your window, and search for the phrase "Outstanding Transactions".

Select the Task:
- When the task list appears, select the relevant task to launch it.

Navigate to Transactions:
- In the task window, click "Go To Transactions" in the lower right corner. This directs you to the Transaction Manager module and the Open Inquiries tab, displaying transactions that require your assistance.

- Find and Edit Transaction:

- Locate the transaction you wish to edit. You can update one or more of the following elements:
- Assignee: Choose or update the assignee using the dropdown list.
- Payee: Select or update a payee from the dropdown list.
- Category: Choose or update the category.
- Class: Click the "•••" (three dots) next to the transaction, select "Edit", and update the class in the popup window.
- Customer/Project: Follow the same steps as for Class to update the customer or project.
- Memo: Click "Edit" and enter details in the memo field.
- Check Number: Click "Edit" and enter the check number.
- Locate the transaction you wish to edit. You can update one or more of the following elements:

- Mark Reviewed:

- After making the necessary edits, tick the checkbox for the transaction and click "Mark Reviewed" to update the transaction in the general ledger.

Edit Transactions In Batch

Access the Work Module:
- Navigate to the Work module.

Search and Select Task:
- Use the search box to find "Outstanding Transactions" and select the task.

Navigate to Transactions:
- Click "Go To Transactions" to move to the Transaction Manager module and the Open Inquiries tab.
- Click "Go To Transactions" to move to the Transaction Manager module and the Open Inquiries tab.

Select Transactions for Batch Editing:
- Locate the transactions you want to edit and tick their checkboxes.

Edit Transactions:
- Click the "Edit Transactions" button.
- In the new window, select the applicable element (Category, Class, Payee, Assignee) from the dropdown list that should be assigned to all selected transactions.

Save and Review:
- Click "Save" to save your selections for further review.

Finalize the Process:
- Repeat steps 1-6 until all transactions are edited.
- Once ready, tick the checkboxes for the transactions you want to "Mark Reviewed".
- Click "Mark Reviewed" to post/update the transactions in your client’s general ledger.
Note: The method of transaction categorization is determined by the connection of your bank and credit card accounts (Smart Connect or the general ledger bank feeds).
