Smart Connect offers the ability to fetch and view bank statements for many financial institutions. However, not all institutions are supported, and the availability of statements can depend on specific settings and versions of Smart Connect.
Understanding Statement Availability
-
Supported Institutions:
- Statements are available for many, but not all, institutions within Smart Connect.
-
Requirement for Paperless Statements:
- If your accountant has not been able to pull and save your month-end statements in the Documents folder, ensure that your account is set up with paperless statements enabled at your financial institution. If paperless statements are disabled, statement fetching will not be available in Smart Connect.
-
Version Differences:
- The Bank Statements section in Smart Connect may appear differently depending on the version enabled for your portal.
Possible Display Scenarios in Smart Connect
Your Smart Connect module might display bank statement information in one of three ways, depending on institutional support and the version of Smart Connect you are using:
-
Institution Not Supported:
- If your financial institution is not supported, the display message will tell you so.

Steps to Take if Issues Arise
- Check Paperless Statement Settings: Ensure that your account at the financial institution is set for paperless statements. This setting is often crucial for enabling statement fetching in Smart Connect.
- Consult Your Accountant or Support: If you're unsure about the version of Smart Connect your portal is using or if you're having trouble accessing statements despite proper settings, reach out to your accountant or Smart Connect support for assistance.
